TEMA:
PREPOSICIONES IN ON AT
Hay tres preposiciones de tiempo básicas en inglés: at, in y
on.
AT
Se utiliza con expresiones de tiempo que contienen horas.
I usually
get up at 7 o’clock.
Son horas también expresiones como lunch time / midday /
midnight.
We normally
have lunch at midday.
IN
Se utiliza con expresiones de tiempo que contienen:
Partes del
día (in the morning / afternoon / evening)
I usually
work in the afternoon.
Excepción:
at night
Meses del año ; (in May / December etc.)
My birthday
is in December.
Estaciones
del año ( in the spring / summer / autumn /
winter)
I like to
relax on the beach in the
summer.
Años (in 1989)
We are in 2009.
ON
Se utiliza con expresiones de tiempo que contienen:
Días de la semana (on Monday / Tuesday etc.)
I always do
my English homework on
Sunday.
Cuando se quiere decir que una situación ocurre todos los
lunes, martes etc., se utiliza la expresión de tiempo con la marca del plural:
I go
swimming on
Saturdays.
Si se trata de una expresión “compuesta” por el día y una
parte del día (Monday morning), la preposición va en acuerdo con la primera
palabra, es decir con el día: on Monday morning / afternoon / evening / night.
Fechas
The
national day of the US is on
4th July.
Excepciones:
1. Cuando hablamos del fin de semana, aúnque se trata de
días de la semana, la preposición de tiempo que se utiliza es at (At the
weekend)
I don’t
wake up early at the weekend.
2. Cuando hablamos de fiestas oficiales: at Christmas
(Navidad), at Easter (Pascuas).
